A good revolver for self defence and recreational use?

I enjoy shooting targets and stuff, but with the way things are getting in the world I figured it'd be smart to get something to keep in my glove box for personal protection. I have a semiautomatic 380 Bersa Thunder and it works beautifully, but I want to look at getting a revolver to avoid any potential jamming problems. The Bersa was my first gun purchase and I have a 22 rifle, but I want to get a revolver pistol. Because I'm a novice in the purchasing of firearms, I'd be open to suggestions. Thanks!
