R4i Games not working...?

I just recently got an R4i, and while some games work just fine, others run slowly (like GTA: Chinatown Wars) and others load but freeze with a white screen just after it loads (like Phantasy Star Zero). I've already tried updating the kernel (It's running R4 Ultra 1.55), but nothing works... Does anyone have any suggestions?
