My Safari and iTunes won't Work.?

I had the "kernel panic" and I restored my computer in safe mode. Now I can't get on safari. It ounces in the dock and then stops bounces and doesn't open. Also my itunes says its not supported by "this Max OSx". I just want to start over new but I restored it using the disks like 8 times and still doesn't work. Any Ideas?
