CricKet android 3G dosent work for Apps?

I have a Huawei Ascend from CricKet Wireless and I do have 3G internet but i can only access my apss and navigation when i have WiFi available. When i am on the road the 3G only lets me surf the web not use my apps. PLEASE HELP. my firmware version is 2.1 -update 1 Kernel Version- 2.6.29-perf and there isnt any updates available as the system says, please help
